Turner Construction
A Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) is a project delivery method where the construction manager helps plan the project during design and handles the construction work. They agree to complete the project for a maximum price, taking on the risk if costs exceed that amount. This method allows the construction manager, owner, and architect to work together early on, which helps keep the project on budget and schedule. It’s commonly used for complex projects where collaboration and cost control are important.
On November 14, 2024, the Construction Manager at Risk Selection Subcommittee received proposals from four qualified CMs. After a detailed review, the Subcommittee interviewed qualified firms on December 3rd & 4th. On December 9, 2024, the School Building Committee voted to select Turner Construction, identifying them as the most advantageous firm for this project.
The Turner Construction team assigned to the Lexington High School Project has experience with projects similar in size, cost, and complexity. This particular group from Turner also has experience working with the Massachusetts School Building Authority, having most recently completed the Josiah Quincy Upper School in Boston.
